What a Visit Feels Like

Arrive early to sip tea on the enclosed front porch, then enjoy a short tour of the space. We’ll begin with your consultation. Share what you’re comfortable with, and Jennifer will use an Ayurvedic pulse, tongue, and abdominal assessment to identify your dosha and tailor your tips. Next comes your massage, with methods chosen for you. Afterward, warm up in the steam cabinet beside the table if you’d like, then take a warm shower. Finish with a bowl of Ayurvedic dal soup in the kitchen, on the back porch (weather permitting), or in the upstairs reintegration nook. You’ll leave with a brief summary of recommendations to try at home.

Who is this for?

Taste of Ayurveda is for people curious about Ayurveda who aren’t sure where to start. Women in perimenopause or younger, as well as menopausal women and postmenopausal women can all benefit from Ayurvedic care. Men are also welcome. Clients must be 18 years of age or older.

What’s an Ayurvedic massage?

An Ayurvedic massage is tailored to your health goals. Warm herbal oils or herbal powder scrubs may be applied topically to relax or stimulate the mind and body. Jennifer will review if there are any contraindications for these treatments. If so, a simple Swedish or deep tissue massage will be recommended instead and recommendations will be provided to prep you for Ayurvedic bodywork at a later date, should you wish to receive it. During massage, Jennifer assesses the skin and tissue systems which helps to inform your recommendations.

What should I bring with me?

All amenities are provided (towel, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bathrobe, slippers, hair dryer). Bring a comb, toiletries, and change of clothes.

What will I get out of this?

It is neither a medical assessment nor nutritional consultation. The consultation or massage may not be sufficient to produce any lifestyle change however if you choose to implement the Ayurvedic tips given to you, you’ll certainly notice enhanced wellness.
